He’s a little calmer when he sings about water!

Great news, water-drinkers. Business owners are helping us cut back on plastic water bottles.

Youth4Water, represented by the United Nations, is a group of young people raising awareness about water issues. They’ve got a new way to help reduce the production of plastic water bottles: a simple blue W sticker on business doors.

What does this sticker mean? It means you can fill up your water bottle for free!

Over 3 000 businesses in Canada are on board and the numbers are climbing

So as the weather finally heats up, remember to look for the blue W for your water refill. It’s a great way to stay healthy, hydrated, and help the environment.

charity: water has raised nearly $1,000,000 to bring clean drinking water to people who need it.  It’s an inspiring story of how ordinary people can change the world.

Turn an empty plastic bottle into a fabulous toy.  One of the wonderful things about this project is that it uses the bottle caps too.

And take a good look at the artist’s jewellry!  It looks like it’s also made out of bottle tops!

I play Hailey Skye in the web series Ruby Skye P.I.

In The Spam Scam, Hailey is petitioning City Hall to ban plastic water bottles. Hailey has a small monologue on the fact that over 65 MILLION plastic water bottles end up in land fills every year. More never make it to land fill. Those ones are ruining our lakes, rivers and animal habitats.

This speech really highlighted the magnitude of the problem for me. Using disposable water bottles isn’t something that’s done by one or two people in a city. It’s done by MILLIONS of people around WORLD!

I really got into my role and found myself feeling more like Hailey everyday! Which means I felt toward this issue because she is really concerned about the planet and making a difference. I feel the same.

I hope Ruby Skye P.I. will raise awareness in everyone who views the series. Hopefully those people will realize what a big problem it is and stop using disposable plastic water bottles.

Join the Skye Sisters Campaign against plastic water bottle pollution! There are two easy things you can do:
