In Chapter 7: Stalled, Ruby hears Ms. Springer talking about a letter.  She then goes to the IT classroom to search for the letter.  She goes through Ms. Springer’s desk, recycling bin and then she looks through her books, which is where she finds the letter from Flint.

Ms. Springer is a watcher of birds of prey, so the art department made up some book jackets especially for Ms. Springer’s bookshelf.

New year.  Resolutions.  Eat more fruit.  Make more brownies.  Accomplish both at the same time with this great brownie baking idea from geek cook Jeff Potter:

Make up a batch of your favourite brownie recipe but bake them inside a hollowed out orange.  Awesome!!

Here are two videos to show you how.  The first shows you how to hollow out an orange and the second shows you how to do everything else — except eat them ;D.

The Bottle Mountain

In Chapter 11: Best Served Cold, we get to see Hailey’s Rally in the Park to raise awareness about plastic water bottle pollution.  Hailey has created a mountain of empty plastic water bottles to help people see how bit the problem really is.

To make the mountain, Jeannette Nguyen and the Ruby Skye P.I. art department went to the recycling depot and borrowed thousands of water bottles.  They washed them, removed the labels and then built a mountain.  They had to use a wooden frame to keep it standing up.

Here are some photos from shoot day 11 when we were filming the water bottle stunt.

Quelle big excitement in Ruby Skye P.I. land today!

Clicker announced their Best of 2010 — voted upon by the fans.  And while we didn’t win the Best of Kids Show category, we did take home a Finalist badge, coming in third in a field of TV series.

Not to rub it in or anything, but we beat out PBS’ Super Why! and The Cat and the Hat Knows A Lot About That, the Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time with Finn and Jake, Mad TV, Chowder, Destroy and Build, Flapjack and Robotomy and Nickolodeon’s The Might B!  We’re pretty chuffed.

Oh, but the day wasn’t over yet!

Indie InterTube has announced their 2010 Award Nominees and we’re nominated for Best Show to Recommend to Your Mom… not really the category you might hope for, but hey, a noms a nom and nom nom nom, we’ll take it!

The First Annual Indie InterTube Awards will be held live on UStream on January 20, 2011 at 8 eastern.  Wear something glittery!
